BIOGRAPHY

Bates Wilder is an actor based in Boston with New York and LA connections.

He's worked in stage, film and television over the past 20 years and continues to this day.  Currently, he can be seen on the new hit series, "Brotherhood", where he is featured in many episodes of season one as a bumbling but loveable brother-in-law in an otherwise dark and dramatic work.

Recently, Bates played the role of Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire at the New Rep Theatre in Watertown, MA.  Other theatrical roles to his credit: serial killer Ralph Wantage in Bryony Laverly's critically acclaimed "Frozen", in the title role in "Killer Joe" at the Welfleet Harbor Actors Theatre, Lucky in New Rep's "Waiting for Godot" with Austin Pendelton, and Sylvester in Molieres "Scapin."

Bates has been seen in hundreds of commercials and many featured television and film roles.  He has appeared in "Mystic River", "Against the Law", "The Next Karate Kid", "The Last Ferry Home" (with the late Christopher Reeves), "America's Most Wanted" and most recently, "Brotherhood." 

In his spare time, Bates teaches acting at "The Studio" at CP Casting in Boston.  He also works regularly as the Production Stage Manager for America's longest running hit comedy, Shear Madness.
